Accident Tickets?

For almost 100 years, travel insurance in the USA was known as “ticket” insurance.  Why, because the first policies were sold at railroad stations by railroad ticket agents and in many cases actually looked like a railroad ticket.  The name caught on and in many cases it crept into state insurance statutes as a common description of travel insurance.
