Most travel insurance policies will cover weather conditions
that cause you to cancel, interrupt, or delay your trip, however, many
have specific requirements that have to be met in order for coverage to
apply. As an example many policies require the airline to cease operations
for at least 24 consecutive hours before they will cover a cancellation.
Some plans will cover your home being made uninhabitable but specify that
the event that causes the home to be uninhabitable must occur within 10
days of departure. We have briefly indicated these conditions on the chart below. Click on any of the row headings for details on what they mean.

This is intended to be a brief overview of how travel insurance plans
currently cover weather conditions. The analysis was based on the standard
policies for each plan; actual coverage may vary by State.
As will all insurance you should read the policy provisions and exclusions
carefully before buying a plan for your trip.
