The period of time when a traveler can request a policy to be cancelled.
Sometimes you buy a policy and decide that you want a different one. Or maybe you just want to cancel it altogether. The "free look" period defines the policy's refundability should you want to cancel your policy and ask for a premium refund. Generally it is a period of time immediately after the purchase of the plan allowing you to review the policy and decide whether or not you want to keep it. Many plans have a small policy service fee that they charge that is built into the cost which is not refundable. This service fee, if charged, varies from $5 to $9.
The trip cancellation/trip interruption plans usually have a free look period of 10-14 days (varies by plan). Many of the travel medical plans allow you to cancel your policy right up until the day before your departure date.
