Inherent vice in a travel policy?

Travelers sometimes get confused about some archaic language found in travel insurance policies that exclude coverage for “inherent vice”. What does it mean? “Inherent Vice” is a term found in most property policies and is meant to describe property that inherently deteriorates or destroys itself. An example would be any type of personal property (baggage insurance) where the property might spoil such as perishable commodities. If because of the nature of the commodity it spoils than most property policies (baggage insurance) would exclude the loss.
